Domestic:

Teutonic Wine Co. 2014 "Goose & Grinder" Field White Blend

2014 Goose and Grinder, Teutonic Wine Company. A blend of riesling, pinot noir and gewurztraminer, this blend is the brainchild of mosel-enthusiast couple, Barnaby + Olga. Vinified from dry-farmed, high-elevation vineyards outside of the Willamette Valley, Barnaby and Olga’s wines are low intervention and generally low alcohol: seeking balance and good acidity for food pairing. Though Goose and Grinder is one of the dyer offerings from Teutonic, it still drinks a little sweet. It’s balancing acidity however makes it a great choice for Thai Takeout night. Old world petrol on the nose, white pepper and stonefruit: this one’s a real treat!

De Su Propia Cosecha 2010 Syrah

Sourced from Bernat Vineyard in Los Olivos and organically farmed by Chris King. This wine was fermented with 25% whole clusters and aged for 32 months in neutral french oak barrels. Earthy and leathery with a slight reduced cherry quality this wine pairs well with roasted piquillo peppers stuffed with braised pork. Whip some up and enjoy.

International:

Castell d'Age NV Anne Marie Cava Brut Nature Reserva

This Non Vintage sparkling is a low dosage example of traditional champenoise method. Apple, hazelnut and ripe herbal notes abound from this wine heralding from geographically diverse parcels. It is a Cava with attitude from a #ladyboss estate that pioneered organic viticulture in Pénédes and is now converting to biodynamics. The addition of 10% Chardonnay to the traditional Macabeo (40%), Xarel-lo (40%) and Parellada (10%) lends a smoothness perfect for fatty cheeses (dare we suggest a baked triple cream?)

Dominio de Punctum 2012 Amor Amor Tempranillo/Petit Verdot

Blueberries, cassis and spice! Pop the Amor Amor Tempranillo/Petit Verdot Blend and enjoy the aromas. Made from estate grown grapes using organic and biodynamic practices, this medium bodied, peppery wine is perfect with steak a poivre. Considering the logo, you should probably save it for Valentines Day and pop it open for your special someone.
